MCQ EXAM
The written part of the European Board Examination of Nuclear Medicine is planned to be held onsite of the EANM’26 Annual Congress, in Vienna on October 16, 2026. The MCQ exam is a multiple choice test that you have to take on a computer that is prepared for you at the venue.
After applying for the exam and approval of your eligibility you will receive all the necessary information about the timeline and exam process. The MCQ Exam consists of 140 questions and you will have a time limit of 150 minutes to answer them. You will receive your result shortly after the exam is over. When successful, you are invited to do the oral exam.
You can also decide to only apply for the MCQ Exam in 2026 and take the Oral Exam at a later date. However, please be aware that your MCQ Exam is only valid for 3 years! Should you haven’t taken the Oral Exam by then, you will have to take the MCQ exam again. Therefore, we recommend to do both Exam parts in the same year.
ORAL EXAM
The oral part of the European Board Examination of Nuclear Medicine is also planned to be held onsite of the EANM’26 Annual Congress, in Vienna on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026.
This exam will be opened for candidates who passed the MCQ exam (written part) in between 2025 – 2023 as well as all applicants who have passed the MCQ exam earlier in the day and registered themselves for the Oral exam part.
Due to limited seats for the oral exam, registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Should you only register for the MCQ exam and decide later on that you want to participate in the Oral exam as well, we cannot guarantee you that there will still be an available seat for you. Even if you pass the MCQ exam at the venue, if you haven’t registered for the Oral exam as well you will not be allowed to participate. If you wish to participate, please contact the UEMS/EBNM secretariat via: office@uems.eanm.org
Detailed information about the exam, format and rules will be announced in due time.
